Realme offers some of the best budget, mid-range, and flagship phones. The Oppo sub-brand has not been around for a long time but has quickly amassed a massive fan following thanks to its competitively priced smartphones.
Further, Realme takes user feedback seriously and works to bring some of the most requested features from users to its devices and software. Just a few days ago, the company brought a bunch of useful features for the Realme X2 Pro and the Realme X50 Pro and X50 Pro Player Edition.
And now the company has posted a new ‘episode‘ of the OS QnA With Devs. With these monthly QnA sessions, the company aims to answer questions from users regarding Realme’s software features.
This time around, the QnA session is based on the default Camera application. And the developer who was assigned to answer user questions regarding the camera on Realme phones has shed some light on the new features that we can expect to see arrive with future updates.
When asked about the Chroma boost option for the selfie camera, the developer responded by stating that the Chroma boost option is meant for capturing scenery and it may not work well with the selfie camera. Here’s the complete response:
Another user suggested that Realme should add the option to convert photos taken from the camera to a PDF document. Luckily, it seems that this is a feature that’s actually being worked upon.
When asked about whether Realme will add stickers to the camera app, the developer stated that there are many third-party alternatives that offer stickers. Therefore, this is a feature that’s not on the cards for the time being.
Further, Starry mode has been one of the most requested features from users. With this mode, users can set their phones down and capture the stars in the night sky. At present, it’s only available on the Realme X3 SuperZoom. Here’s what the developer had to say on that:
The developer also claimed that a new Movie Mode will be added to the camera application for recording videos in a cinematic aspect ratio:
These are the major new features that Realme plans to bring to most of its smartphones. However, there are a few phones that will not be receiving any new camera features. These are the Realme 2 Pro, Realme 2, and Realme C1.
2.movie mode is coming.
That being said, it’s good to see the company clarifying and answering questions from its users. Of course, not all these features will be available right away. But users can expect to see some features become available in the near future via OTA updates.
Speaking of which, Realme is set to release Android 11 for its eligible devices soon. It will bring along a bunch of new features and improvements, possibly even the new camera features. So keep an eye out on our dedicated tracker to know more.
