Realme on March 5 announced two more smartphones dubbed Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. As expected, the duo is an upgrade over the relatively new Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro, tagging along new chipsets, the much-celebrated 90Hz displays, and an impressive 30W fast-charging.
As you may have guessed, the Pro variant is where all the goodness is at. For an extra INR 4,000, the Realme 6 Pro gets you a superior Snapdragon 720G chipset allied to either 6GB or 8GB RAM.
This is a tad better than the MediaTek G90T chipset used in the standard Realme 6, but there is even more, including a slightly bigger 6.6-inch screen with a dual-lens selfie cutout in the top left corner, and superior lenses on the quad-lens setup on the back.
In terms of software, though, the duo has the same Realme UI skin on top of Android 10 running the show. These two, however, are not the first from the company to boast this feat.
At this point, we still can’t figure out who to vent at, but it is something that will probably require a combined effort by both sides to enable 1080p streaming on the Realme 6 Pro. Perhaps a software update will do the trick, but we can’t tell when.
For now, what we also can’t tell you is whether the standard Realme 6 is also affected, but we should find out pretty soon.
