Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart fans are quickly closing in on the game’s June 11 release date, and those buying the game digitally can now begin to download it. With this pre-load coming a full week in advance, those looking forward to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart should have no issue getting it downloaded in time for launch day.

As is the case with other pre-loads, the feature is exclusive to digital owners, meaning that those buying the game physically will need to wait until they have the disc. The pre-loading is not exclusive to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s special edition, either, as both standard and digital deluxe owners can start downloading the game right now. If players do not already have pre-loading turned on, they can set it up rather easily.

The system for pre-loading is the same across all PS5 games, as players can find an auto-download option if they head to their purchased games and select Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. Specifically, they will want to click on the countdown timer, making sure that the auto download option is checked. If it is, the game should already be downloading to the PS5 console. If not, players should check off the option to begin the download of the latest Ratchet and Clank game. They can then keep an eye on the progress via the download management section of the home menu.

With a full week of pre-loading, even those with slow internet speeds should be able to get the game onto their consoles with plenty of time to spare. The low file size of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart only makes the pre-load process easier, as the game only takes up 33.6 GB. Despite features like ray tracing and 60 FPS, as well as more detailed and lively planets, the game only takes up 10 GB more than Ratchet and Clank 2016. For those wanting to avoid game deletion to free up storage space, this small size should be great news.

With pre-loading now live, the one-week countdown has officially started for Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart. With the game being a full PlayStation 5 exclusive, it will be taking full advantage of the DualSense controller and the power of the console itself. Further, the story’s use of alternate dimensions and the introduction of Rivet makes for an intriguing narrative, with many looking forward to getting answers. Fortunately, those answers are right around the corner.

In just seven days, gamers will be wielding Ratchet’s new weapon arsenal and exploring some never before seen locations like Nefarious City. With the pre-load going live so early, most will be able to start this new adventure the second it is made available.
