After being hit by several delays, Rainbow Six Extraction finally launches in just a couple of weeks. Extraction is one of the biggest new games releasing in January 2022, alongside the PC versions of Monster Hunter Rise and God of War, with Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection and Pokemon Legends: Arceus making up the rest of this list.

Nvidia had recently announced that 10 more titles will be getting ray tracing support in the future, with Rainbow Six Extraction and Hitman 3 being the most noteworthy games from this selection. Ray tracing can be an extremely demanding feature, but its impact on the overall visuals of a game is well-documented. Ubisoft has now announced the system requirements for Rainbow Six Extraction, while also confirming some much-requested features for the PC version.

The system requirements for Rainbow Six Extraction are detailed under 4 categories – low/1080p, high/1080p, high/1440p, and ultra/2160p. Around 85GB of space will be needed, along with an additional 9GB for HD textures. It also shows that Rainbow Six Extraction will support NVIDIA DLSS as well as NVIDIA Reflex for low latency gameplay. However, it does not confirm any targeted frame rate for these requirements, and simply mentions that Extraction will support an uncapped frame rate. As Extraction is a first-person shooter, one can assume that the listed hardware is required for achieving a consistent 60 fps in gameplay.

  • CPU: Intel i5-4460 // AMD Ryzen 3 1200 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB // AMD RX 560 4GB RAM: 8GB (Dual-channel setup) OS: Windows 10 64-bit STORAGE: 85GB

  • CPU: Intel i9-9900K // AMD Ryzen 7 3700X GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10GB // AMD RX 6800XT 16GB RAM: 16GB (Dual-channel setup) OS: Windows 10/11 64-bit STORAGE: 85GB (+9GB HD Textures)

ADDITIONAL FEATURES

  • Uncapped frame rate Vulkan API support Multi-Monitor & Widescreen support NVIDIA DLSS support NVIDIA Reflex support for low latency gameplay In-depth customization options In-game benchmark for performance analysis

There is a massive gap in the level of hardware needed between high/1440p and ultra/2160p, and it also does not feature a separate list of requirements for when ray tracing will be enabled. Regardless, it seems like users do not need a high-end PC in order to play Rainbow Six Extraction on high settings.

It was earlier confirmed that Rainbow Six Extraction is not a full priced game, and will instead be available for $39.99 for the standard edition. A Deluxe Edition, which comes with 3 bonus packs, is also available for the price of $49.99. Fans can even allow their friends to play Extraction for free, for up to 14 days, via a Buddy Pass system.

Just yesterday, it was confirmed that Rainbow Six Extraction will be available on Xbox Game Pass, for both console and PC, on launch day. Pupperazzi and Windjammers 2 join Extraction as day one Xbox Game Pass releases in January 2022. This news comes alongside the announcement that Ubisoft+, Ubisoft’s premium subscription service that gives access to ultimate editions of available games, will be coming Xbox consoles in the future.
