If players are looking for an operator that hits harder than Hibana, they’ll have to put down Rainbow Six Extraction and play another game. Nobody has the single-click-of-a-button damage potential like Hibana and she’s a key character when gamers know they have to take down a boss.
Of course, the game doesn’t make it easy. The remote mines will have to be placed ahead of time. And, of course, there’s the rest of the mission to worry about. But with the right loadout, players find that Hibana is never a fish out of water in Rainbow Six Extraction.
Primary Weapon - Supernova
- Holographic Sight No barrel attachment
There is a reason that the Supernova is considered one of the best weapons in the game. Shotguns are preferred over assault weapons due to their ability to kill when surrounded, an unfortunate occurrence in Rainbow Six Extraction.
There is a temptation to slap a silencer on it (the only muzzle available), but pass on this urge. It reduces damage, which makes the Supernova less awe-inspiring. And the stealth business can get taken care of by the secondary weapon.
Secondary Weapon - P229
- Suppressor
Let the P229 take care of stealth kills for Hibana. It should be used as a primary weapon regardless of the designation, saving the Supernova for when the squad’s cover gets blown. Players will want to get some experience as fast as they can to unlock the P229.
It’s good for one-shot kills when hitting a weak spot and lethal from all the way across the map. Hibana’s weapon loadout hits hard, keeping her atop the damage charts even when she’s not using her impressive ability to instantly eliminate a difficult enemy.
Explosive Tech - Paralysis Grenade
This isn’t a very creative choice since the whole community is well aware of how overpowered an instantly-detonating five-second stun is. But the Paralysis Grenades are better for Hibana than most other operators who insist on using them.
With one toss, Hibana can stun her opponents, fire all of her ability shots, then remotely detonate them before the target wakes up. What should have been a battle that the operator will take a while to heal from becomes a death trap for bosses.
Gear - Explosive Harness
Due to the important impact stuns have in getting Hibana’s ability off cleanly, players will sometimes need more Paralysis Grenades than they are provided to complete a mission. Thankfully, since Hibana should be focused solely on damage (not tanking or support), she can equip the Explosive Harness and get more of them.
The five-second window may feel a bit tight, so if the elite target wakes up, don’t hesitate to drop a second Paralysis Grenade down, finish shooting mines, and then blow it up. With ten seconds of stun, nothing can survive, even on the game’s hardest difficulties.
Rainbow Six Extraction was released on January 20th, 2022, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
