New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 11, 2022) follows:
Procreate is one of the most popular apps for digital illustration among iPad device users. The large number of options it offers made it a favorite of many professionals.
But, in the last few hours, its users are experiencing a frustrating freezing or crashing issue that is directly interfering with their work.
More specifically, the crashing issue in Procreate app reportedly occurs when the users try to use layers. Also, it seems everything started from the arrival of the most recent update of the app (1, 2, 3, 4).
Procreate app freezing or crashing when opening layers
According to multiple reports, users are unable to use layers since the most recent update, as it causes a freezing or crashing glitch that does not allow them to continue their work.
In addition to the above, the issue is so severe that it is reportedly not enough to close the app. After freezing or crashing in the app, users are forced to restart their iPad.
so this only just happened today but while I was drawing I went to tap on the layers icon and it wouldn’t open and I couldn’t do anything except close the app. when I opened it again and went back to the painting every other option was working just fine albeit a bit slower than usual but every time the layers option would freeze everything. Hello, I’m fairly new to procreate and my procreate just updated and it worked normally for a while and then as I went to change the layer the app would freeze and I would have to close it and reopen it and the layers just kept crashing when trying to open the layers. I checked my other works and the layers just freeze, but switching from brush to eraser works fine. Source
