Prithviraj is going to release on 1o June 2022. The film was supposed to be released on 21 January 2022 but postponed just like many other films due to the restrictions and lockdown in several states regarding the third wave of Covid-19.
In the last couple of days, many films makers have rescheduled the released day of their movies. The new dates of all January films were out and fans were wondering when Yash Raj Films would let the world know when Prithviraj would be out in theatres.
Today finally YRF has ended the suspense game, Just a few minutes ago the makers have announced the period entertainer Prithviraj would be out on June 2022.
Prithviraj is a historical action drama directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi and produced by Yash Raj Films. The film is based on the life of Prithiviraj Chauhan a king from the Chahamana dynasty. It featured Akshay Kumar as Prithiviraj Chauhan, while Manushi Chillar makes her Hindi film debut by playing her role in Sanyogita. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij and Lalit Tiwari as other important characters.
An official motion poster of the film was released by Yash Raj Films on 9 September 2019, for making its official declaration and revealing that it will be released in cinemas on Diwali 20220. Principal photography began in Jaipur on 15 November 2019 but was suspended in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The shoot resumed in October 2020 at Yash Raj Film Studios, and it was scheduled to release in theatres on 21 January 2022, but again postponed due to the spread of the omicron variant.
The film is based on Prithviraj Raso, a Braj Bhasha epic poem about the life of Prithviraj Chauhan.
