Nearly nine years after his death, the late actor Paul Walker will be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The picks were made public on Friday by radio DJ Ellen K, who also serves as the leader of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce’s Walk of Fame selection committee, according to a Hollywood news website. Along with Uma Thurman, Bill Pullman, Ludacris, John Waters, Vince Vaughn, Jon Favreau, Mindy Kaling, Martin Lawrence, Ralph Macchio, Garrett Morris, and Ellen Pompeo, Paul Walker will receive a star in 2023.
Paul Walker was killed in a car accident on November 30, 2013, at the age of 40. The Hollywood film community was shocked and grieved by his passing. One of the three primary characters of the franchise, Brian O’Conner, was the role he played.
Paul’s on-screen wife in the Fast and Furious movies, Jordana Brewster, tweeted an old photo of him from the shoot with the message, “You are going to get your star. shining exasperatingly. The 2023 class of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Many fans also took to social media saying it was ‘too late but well-deserved’. One fan tweeted, “About time @RealPaulWalker got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame! #paulwalker #GoneTooSoon.” Another fan wrote, “Paul left us way too soon. But the star makes him immortal.”
In Hollywood, California, along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street, there are more than 2700 brass and five-pointed terrazzo stars that form the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
