They’re adorable, versatile, unique, and popular among players and Pokemon fans alike. However, knowing which version to focus on can be a real struggle in Pokemon Legends Arceus. Luckily, since they’re all relatively different, the evolutions can usually work in harmony with the rest of the player’s style or party.
That being said, each preference is mostly opinionated and will work for certain parties, so it’s vital that, when considering which evolution to have, the player analyses the situation that presents itself. Such as the battles ahead, the current party, and what the player’s end-game party will look like in Pokemon Legends Arceus. After all, it makes no sense to opt for Flareon when the player already has a powerful fire-type at their disposal.
8 Glaceon
With one of the highest Special Attacks compared to the other evolutions, Glaceon really feels like a purely situational Pokemon to have in a party. They’re still a useful companion and will still hold up if the player needs a powerful ice-type but it’s not even anywhere near being the most powerful Ice-type in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
Nevertheless, if the player loves Special Attacks and adores Glaceon then grab this Pokemon. It’s just not the most powerful choice in the game.
7 Espeon
If the player is looking to increase the amount of purple in their roster then Espeon isn’t a bad decision. Again, this Pokemon may not be the most powerful in the game but it can still pack a punch and will hold its own as players traverse the new lands of Pokemon Legends Arceus. It also arguably has a higher Special Attack than pretty much any other Eevee evolution, comparing practically identically to Glaceon in that sense.
The only thing that sets Espeon in a slightly different league to Glaceon is how versatile and powerful this psychic-type Pokemon can be. That all depends on the need for one in a player’s party and how useful they are in battle.
6 Umbreon
While having a high Special Attack can be useful if the player wants to try and get rid of an enemy quickly, a good Special Defense can easily be the difference between fighting another day or a fainting Pokemon. This is why Umbreon is a better choice than the likes of Espeon and Glaceon, it’s just a more versatile and useful Pokemon to have in anyone’s party.
Ultimately, the only reason Umbreon is classed as a better Pokemon is due to the rest of their stats. They are still good but don’t seem to hold up to the likes of the other Eevee evolutions. Nevertheless, it’s not to say this classic Dark-type won’t do well in a specific party, just make sure to focus on Umbreon’s strengths.
5 Vaporeon
Some may argue that Vaporeon is, in fact, the best Eevee evolution in the Pokemon franchise. However, when the stats are analyzed and biases removed, it just doesn’t hold up to a lot of the other choices. Unless the player is looking for a tank in their party, in that case, this water-type Pokemon is perfect.
Living up to its strong history and lore, Varoreon has the highest base hit points out of all the Eevee evolutions. While it may not live up to some stronger Pokemon, Vaporeon is a strong and long-lasting companion that would be great in a party that needs something to take some hitpoints and still deal a good amount of damage.
4 Flareon
While having a good base hit point pool is a wonderful perk for Vaporeon, it’s much easier to just avoid damage by wiping out the enemy as quickly as possible. It’s a shame that Flareon isn’t the fastest choice because the combination of speed and attack would prove Flareon to be deadly.
Nevertheless, Flareon has the best base attack of the evolutions and is capable of doing some devastating damage from their attacks. With attacks like these, there’s not much point in investing in Special attacks or loads of hit points. Just make sure there’s enough to keep Flareon standing and watch as they win the battles ahead.
3 Jolteon
Jolteon is far from the most powerful creature in Pokemon Legends Arceus, but sometimes it’s not about power. Sometimes what matters is getting the first bit of damage in and being as quick as possible. This is where this wonderful Pokemon comes in, being labeled as the fastest Eevee evolution by far.
Again, it all depends on what the player intends with their playstyle and party design, but if speed is the priority then Jolteon is the best choice. It’ll allow any player to attack first and perhaps stop the battle before any real damage is done, saving the lives of the other members of the party.
2 Leafeon
While it can be relatively easy to look at certain Eevee evolutions and feel that because they thrive in a certain aspect that they should be prioritized. Now on some occasions and for certain playstyles that can be a good idea. On other occasions, the player needs to be focusing more on the all-rounders. That way anyone can make sure most of the bases are covered which should enable them to thrive in any circumstance.
This is why Leafeon is so powerful. Not only is this Pokemon a great all-rounder, but it has the highest base defense of all available Eevee evolutions. After all, who doesn’t want a Pokemon that’s quick, strong, and impossible to hit?
1 Sylveon
For the most part, Sylveon and Leafeon are the same aside from the different types they possess. However, this adorable Fairy-type is a wonderful all-rounder who thrives with a high HP, a high Special Defense, and a Special Attack that can be increased if the player allows Sylveon to benefit from the Modest Nature in Pokemon Legends Arceus.
That drop in attack is well worth it and many fans will find that Sylveon will be a force to be reckoned with if focused and developed to fit the player’s style and party.
