Players who want to get the most value out of the upcoming Battle Raid rotation in Pokemon GO are going to be staying very busy throughout early to mid-November. The mobile AR game is about to wrap up the final bits of last month’s rotating content, and when that happens three Legendary Battle Raid bosses are going to be rotating in to the five-star spot.

After a bit of a long wait, the tier five Battle Raids will once again offer a chance to face off against the Swords of Justice: Cobalion, Terrakion and Virizion. Each third of the trio has their own strengths, so Pokemon GO players will want to update all of their counter rosters with the latest powerhouses in anticipation of the fights kicking off on November 5.

Terrakion is a powerful Rock/Fighting-type, which means that players should focus on exploiting its weaknesses to Steel, Psychic, Fighting, Water, Fairy, Grass, and Ground-types. Mewtwo is going to be a heavy hitter once again in this fight and players who can equip one with Confusion and Psystrike should have a major advantage. There are also some powerful Mega Pokemon that players now have at their disposal that could be helpful for this particular fight.

Best Terrakion Raid Counters

Mewtwo - Confusion Psystrike

Blastoise (Mega) - Water Gun/Hydro Cannon

Venusaur (Mega) - Vine Whip/Frenzy Plant

Metagross - Zen Headbutt/Meteor Mash

Landorus (Therian) - Mud Shot/Earth Power

Latios - Zen Headbutt/Psychic

Conkeldurr - Counter/Dynamic Punch

Kyogre - Waterfall/Surf

Jirachi - Confusion/Doom Desire

Groudon - Mud Shot/Earthquake

Swampert - Mud Shot/Hydro Cannon

Terrakion can be taken down with just two players if the weather and bonuses are right and each player is maxed out with perfect counters. That said, it is highly recommended that the average players stick to parties of four or five to take the Legendary down without any serious problems.

As always, it’s not the end of the world if a trainer can’t assemble the perfect counter roster based on these suggestions. The most important thing is to enter the battle with enough friends (at least three or four mid- to high-level players) and to focus on using Pokemon that take advantage of the boss’ weaknesses. Players who just want the simplest strategy can opt to select the most powerful Psychic- or Steel-types that are available in their storage. There are obviously some Pokemon who will get the job done faster than others, but in general a strong roster of Psychic- and Steel-type Pokemon will likely lead to a successful Battle Raid. Don’t hesitate to burn through some Stardust, Rare Candy, and TMs in order to properly prepare for the big fight.

More details about upcoming events should arrive throughout the final days of the Season of Mischief. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
