The announcement of the upcoming Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games appears to have whipped the Pokemon community into a frenzy, which has led to a torrent of fan-created tributes to the new titles. Fans seem to be especially excited about the new starter trio: Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly. Now, one fan has created fan art showcasing designs for custom Poke Balls for each of the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starter Pokemon.

Customizing Poke Balls is an option in most Pokemon games, although the exact level of customization available depends on the title in question. These options include Ball Capsules, stickers, and simply using different types of Poke Balls to begin with. Although the basic red and white Poke Ball is the most popular variant, different types like Great Balls, Ultra Balls, and Master Balls have also found their way into the popular consciousness, and those four are just the beginning.

Redditor _justsasss shared fan art depicting possible designs for custom Poke Balls inspired by each of the new Pokemon Scarlet and Violet starter trio. The three Pokemon currently only have their base forms publicized, with Sprigatito taking the form of a little green cat-like creature, Fuecoco being a red bipedal crocodile, and Quaxly being a blue and white duck. Each of these pocket monsters has a strong aesthetic and a distinct color scheme that makes them easy to recognize, which seems to have inspired _justsasss to create custom Poke Balls inspired by the trio.

Fuecoco’s Poke Ball is red and white like the default Poke Ball but features two small black markings and one square-shaped yellow marking inspired by Fuecoco’s nostrils and stomach mark. It also has the Pokemon’s distinctive yellow crest on top. Sprigatito’s Poke Ball is light green and white with the creature’s dark face facial markings and a tuft of fur on either side. Finally, Quaxly’s Poke Ball is pale blue and white and features a yellow latch as well as a mop of blue “hair.”

Additioanlly, _justsasss’s designs also include white markings on the latch of the Sprigatito and Fuecoco-inspired Poke Balls designed to look like the creatures’ teeth. This means one broad, rounded tooth for Fuecoco and two small fangs for Sprigatito. The result is incredibly recognizable and bears a resemblance to the eggs found in some Pokemon-inspired monster collection games. This isn’t the first time Pokemon fans have made fan art of the Gen 9 starter trio, but it may be one of the most adorable.
