Plex is a popular platform that allows you to set up a media center in your home. The service uses a ‘client-server’ system which expands its possibilities.
Plex allows you to easily stream all the multimedia content you have on your computer (or any compatible platform) to other devices connected to the same network.
Plex also offers the ‘Discover’ feature that seeks to unify all your streaming services in one place.
While you can’t watch/play content directly through Discover, you can conveniently browse the entire catalog of your streaming services, without feeling ‘overwhelmed’ by having to browse each app’s catalog separately.
That said, some users are facing issues with the feature. Apparently they are getting a ‘no streaming services in your region’ error message through Plex Discover (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
‘No streaming services in your region’ message on Plex Discover
Normally, the feature should display the catalog of your streaming services in a listing. However, some are just getting the ‘no streaming services in your region’ error message through Plex Discover.
The issue causes the Plex Discover content list to appear empty or blank.
Why is it that in my region, where I’ve been using Netflix (and other streaming services) for years, Plex says: “Looks like there are no streaming services in your region”?
Plex, buddy, I’m not sure where you’re looking, but there very much ARE streaming services in my region, and I’d very much appreciate it if you could admit that and let me select them.
Yes latest version, tried on multiple devices, no VPN. It’s not me. Source
As per post title, the discover page seems to be working ok, showing trending stuff, trailers etc. If I select the ‘select streaming services’ button, a screen opens with a done button and some help text referencing a menu in the left. There is no menu on the left. No list, no entries to select.
I’m wondering is the list geo-filtered and there’s nothing ‘available’ in my location (Guernsey, Channel Islands)? Source
Plex team is aware and working on a fix
The Plex team is already aware of the issue and is working on resolving it. However, there are no details on an ETA for a fix yet.
A Plex employee also confirms that the issue is occurring in some regions. However, the employee does not offer more specific information on which regions are impacted.
We will update this story once new details about the matter emerge.
