PlayStation Now is Sony’s cloud streaming service that allows gamers access to new titles monthly. Last month, the service added Nioh, Jump Force, and Streets of Rage 4. While PlayStation Now was initially met with mixed reactions from fans, Sony’s efforts to bring quality titles to the service has seen the service become increasingly popular. On June 1, a handful of exciting new titles will be dropping to fans.

On June 1, among other titles, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be coming to PS Now. Along with it, PS Now will see the arrival of Slay the Spire, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown, Car Mechanic Simulator, and a handful of Sonic titles including Sonic Forces, Sonic Mania, and Team Sonic Racing. Among all the PS Now games added in 2021, The Witcher 3 might be the biggest name yet, up there with Marvel’s Avengers and Borderlands 3 that were released back in April.

While May’s PS Now games piqued fan’s interest with an eclectic mix of offerings including souls-like games such as Nioh and beat ’em ups in Streets of Rage 4, June is slated to be even more ambitious by offering massive AAA titles like The Witcher 3 alongside deckbuilding indies game like Slay the Spire. The June offerings also seem to have a little bit of something for every fan, dipping into more genres than ever before.

It’s worth noting that while Virtua Fighter 5 released way back in 2006, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown is a completely remastered version of the game that sees its debut on June 1 along with its appearance on the PS Now service. Though the Virtua Fighter series never attained the same kind of mainstream popularity of other arcade fighters like Street Fighter or Tekken, it has remained beloved by a niche group of fans. As a tribute to its loyal fanbase, Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown’s DLC pack, called the “Legendary Pack,” will allow players to enjoy the game with blocky graphics similar to the series’ original release on Sega platforms.

Next month’s PS Now titles are also conspicuously Sonic dense. Though both Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania were released as part of Sonic’s 25th-anniversary celebration back in 2017, the two games were met with markedly different receptions. While Sonic Forces was criticized as a mediocre game, Sonic Mania remains one of the highest-rated Sonic titles in recent memory. With Team Sonic Racing rounding out the trio, June’s PS Now aims to offer something for every Sonic fan.
