Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, referred to himself as a “majnoo” at a special court hearing on Saturday in the Pakistan Rupee 16 billion money laundering case against him and his sons Hamza and Suleman.
Shehbaz Sharif categorically denied the allegations of money laundering against him, telling the court that he never got his pay as Chief Minister of Punjab state and referring to himself as a “majnoo,” an Urdu word meaning an idiot.
Prime Minister Shehbaz took the rostrum at the hearing before Judge Ijaz Hassan Awan and said the case against him was “fake.”
“I haven’t gotten anything from the government in 12.5 years,” he stated, adding that he used to pay for the refuelling of the government automobile he drove.
“I am the Prime Minister of this country, thanks to God. I’m a majnoo, and I’m a majnoo. I did not exercise my legal right to accept my income and benefits “According to the Dawn newspaper, he stated.
