New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on October 13, 2022) follows:

Overwatch 2 is the incredibly popular successor to the original Overwatch released in 2016 by Blizzard Entertainment.

It is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game that has noticeably taken the gaming world by storm due to its fun and unique gameplay.

However, players have been facing a number of issues with the game lately. For instance, we highlighted issues related to Zarya being unkillable and Watchpoint Pack not working.

Overwatch 2 Sombra overpowered

Many Overwatch 2 players (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) have been reporting that the character Sombra seems unusually overpowered.

Apparently, the way Sombra has been reworked for Overwatch 2 is quite peculiar as she appears practically invincible now.

Sombra as a character has got a number of buffs including the ability to hack while being invisible and her hack causing additional damage to the target.

Players have also mentioned a number of other reasons why the character should be nerfed. We’ve added a screenshot of one such report below:

There are also some players who suggest that the team just needs to lower the damage boost she gets against each hacked target. These issues have led to many asking her to be nerfed.

Potential counter for Sombra

Some Overwatch 2 players believe that Sombra can be defeated if pitted against Kiriko. Apparently, Kiriko’s healing grenade removes hacks and helps deal with different combinations of attacks in an effective way.

One of the affected players also recommends using Brigette to counter Sombra.

We hope Overwatch 2 developers listen to players’ feedback and make the suggested changes to the character.

There is still no official word from Blizzard on this situation. We will update this story once new relevant events arise.

Update 1 (November 16, 2022)

05:43 pm (IST): Although there was a delay of a couple of days in between, the long-awaited patch with the Sombra nerf will finally arrive on November 17.
