Developed by Microsoft, Outlook is one of the most popular email clients to date. Available as part of the Microsoft Office suite, it incorporates functions such as task managing and contact managing amongst many more.

However, as is the case with every software application, users are prone to bugs and glitches. That being said, users are now reporting that the Outlook search filter function is not working after updating to macOS Monterey 12.1.

The issue seems to be affecting those running Office 2021. Many say that no results show up whenever they use the search filter, which is really frustrating if you receive a lot of emails and need to search for specific terms.

However, Outlook search filters seem to be working just fine on the browser version. User reports suggest that reinstalling the app and running a terminal command recommended by a Microsoft support article is not helping either.

Thankfully, Microsoft seems to be aware of the issue and said that they are working with Apple to fix it as soon as possible.

Those dependent on the Outlook search filter say the only workaround that seems to be working is to downgrade macOS Monterey to 12.0.1 or to switch to New Outlook.

However, there is no timeframe on when it will be fixed.

Nonetheless, we will keep tabs on the issue and let you know when Microsoft fixes the Outlook search filter on macOS Monterey 12.1 so stay tuned for further updates.
