Today, more and more people consume media online using the various available content streaming platforms, free or paid.
With the increased content consumption on mobile devices, it is becoming ever more crucial to have Widevine L1 certification of the said devices.
Now, users of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom report that Widevine L1 certification is missing on the devices and instead, they have to make do with the Widevine L3 that doesn’t support said HD content.
There are reports from users of the Reno 10X Zoom from as far back as March this year (1,2,3), complaints about missing L1 certification.
It looks as though these complaints have been heard by Oppo after all. This, as the company has moved to assure users that this is being looked into by the developers.
In response to one of the user complaints, Oppo Care’s official Indian handle on Twitter goes to say:
With that, it is only a matter of time before users of the Reno 10X Zoom get a fix for this issue on their devices, or at least we hope.
Oppo has had a pretty solid run when it comes to testing and the deployment of Android 11 builds to its eligible devices. It is issues like this that hold the potential to taint an otherwise pretty good image.

01:00 pm (IST): The Widevine issue on the Oppo Reno 10X Zoom has persisted despite a bug-fixing update rolling out recently. Oppo says that they’re still working on fixing the issue.
