The story of OnePlus is an incredible one. The company has risen from a one-man idea to a massive force in the tech industry and competitor to big smartphone brands like Samsung and Huawei in just six years.
To achieve all this success in such a short period of time is all down to the enthusiastic community of fans around the world, more so in India, where the company says it’s now 5 million strong!
In an attempt to lock down these loyal fans, OnePlus last October launched the OnePlus Care program for the Indian market to offer a bunch of exclusives to fans in the country and followed it with a similar program later in the year called the OnePlus Red Cable Club.
For the uninitiated, the OnePlus Red Cable Club program arrived in December 2019 with an aim of giving Indian OnePlus fans access to extra features and exclusives like extended device support, prize draws, and even discounted out-of-warranty repairs.
Seasoned OnePlus fans should be quick to associate the OnePlus Red Cable Club name with the company’s signature red and white cables that come in product boxes because that’s where OnePlus drew inspiration from thanks to a charging station in India.
To be a little more specific, benefits of being a member of the OnePlus Red Cable Club include a year of free 50GB extra cloud storage, half the price for replacing batteries on your OnePlus 6/6T, 5/5T, and 3/3T, as well as an extra year of warranty for OnePlus 6T and newer devices.
All you need to join the club is any OnePlus smartphone, yes, including the OG OnePlus One. The sign-up process may vary depending on the specific device you have.

OnePlus notes that the OxygenOS 10.3.0 updates that went out to OnePlus 7T, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 6 series were specifically for Red Cable Club, so be sure that your device has at least upgraded to this version.

Unfortunately, though, it seems multiple OnePlus users are unable to join the OnePlus Red Cable Club using the above guides. Heck, even those who have the latest OxygenOS 10.3.0 are still unable to get into the program for some reason.
Matter of fact, the OnePlus Red Cable Club sign-up issues have been here since day one and they still persist to date. It’s unclear what could be causing the issue, but OnePlus, after acknowledging the issue last December, noted that you must make sure:
It remains to be seen when OnePlus will address the sign-up issues with the OnePlus Red Cable Club, but we do hope it is soon.
