OnePlus offers some of the best Android smartphones that you can get your hands on. The company has been consistently releasing phones with high-end specifications ever since it first made an appearance. And thanks to this, OnePlus phones are a great choice for mobile gamers.
Matter of fact, the company has partnered with PUBG Mobile to bring 90fps gameplay support on select OnePlus devices. Although, this is a time-exclusive deal. Thus, the 90fps option will become available on eligible phones from other brands starting next month.
Further, OnePlus has decided to bring a floating window option to the Game Mode tools. This feature will let users chat on apps such as WhatsApp and Instagram without leaving the game. Therefore, users can easily switch between texting and playing with just a tap.
This tool, however, won’t be available on all OnePlus devices. Naturally, many users are curious to know which devices will support the feature. And well it seems OnePlus has decided to provide an official answer to the question via its latest August Q&A post.
As an answer to the question — Can I have floating window in Game Mode? — OnePlus states that the function will be available on the OnePlus 6 and newer models. Thus, all OnePlus released after the OnePlus 6 will bag the floating window option.
The floating window option should become available in the next Open Beta OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro. Further, within the same Q&A post, the company has also revealed information regarding certain bugs that have been fixed on the OnePlus 8 series and the OnePlus 7 series.
As you can see, the company has fixed some bugs and is already working on improving the user experience further. In case you wish to read the entire Q&A section for August, head here.
That being said, the company is also working on bringing the Android 11 update for eligible devices. At present, the Android 11 developer preview 3 is available for the OnePlus 8 series. FYI, here’s a list of OnePlus phone that might be eligible for the OxygenOS 11 update.
