Thanks to its unique approach that not only focuses on hardware but also on the quality of software experience on devices, OnePlus has become a household name in the smartphone business.

To further stand out, OnePlus joined Google in offering not just timely software updates, but also a longer support window of at least three years. Matter of fact, the Chinese vendor is one of only three OEMs that guarantee three Android OS updates for its devices.

The newest software to arrive is OxygenOS 11 update based on Android 11, the latest and greatest from Google. Unveiled in June for OnePlus app developers, the new skin is expected to hit the Open Beta channel in the coming days and stable in weeks.

But before then, OnePlus has a number of bugs and issues that needs to be addressed. In the latest release notes for OxygenOS 11 developer preview 4, the company has shared a bunch of bugs and issues that are known to them and should be fixed sooner than later.

But we all know the story of bugs and random issues popping up here and there won’t end with fixes for bugs listed above. In fact, just about every software update tags along unwanted guests.

That said, this article is here to keep track of all bugs and issues discovered in OxygenOS 11 update, be it the beta or stable version, regardless of the device in question.

Update 1 (September 12)

The OxygenOS 11 open beta update on the OnePlus 8 series (OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro) has broken the Google Assistant launch gesture (swipe from corner). What’s good is that one of the staff members has confirmed that the developers are working on this. Details here.

Update 2 (September 15)

IST 06:45 pm: Apparently, some users (1, 2) aren’t able to access their OnePlus Cloud Storage after installing the Open Beta 1 update on the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. A mod claims that the issue is currently being looked into. See more details here.

Update 10 (October 21)

IST 10:10 am: OnePlus is seeking feedback from users who have installed the OxygenOS 11 update in order to improve the user experience. The company will take all the feedback in the form of a survey and a Zoom call. Head here to know more.

Update 12 (October 27)

IST 04:51 pm: Users on OxygenOS 11 are reporting that they aren’t able to access the full list of secondary apps while trying to use the split-screen feature by directly assigning the shortcut to the navigation buttons.

Fortunately, a OnePlus Staff Member has stated that the developer team is working on fixing the problem. Thus, we expect that a fix for the problem will be out soon.

Update 13 (October 28)

IST 01:58 pm: OnePlus users are reporting that they are having trouble using the Gallery app since it is displaying a pop-up message directing users to download an expansion file. The problem seems to be affecting those on OxygenOS 11 and OxygenOS 10 too. More details here.

IST 02:32 pm: The OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 3 update is now live for the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. It brings a few fixes and improvements to the two handsets including a fix for the Zen Mode bug which resulted in the system interface to stop running.

IST 11:54 am: Several OnePlus 8 series and OnePlus 8T users are reporting that they aren’t able to interact with buttons at the bottom of the screen in the Snapchat app since those buttons are overlapping with the device’s navigation buttons on Android 11. More details here.

IST 01:27 pm: A OnePlus staff member has confirmed that the company is working to fix a WhatsApp compatibility issue wherein upon opening the emoji section in the app, the send button gets disabled. More info here.

IST 02:04 pm: Apparently, the screen ‘shaking’ issue on the OnePlus 8 is still not fixed after the update to Android 11 (OxygenOS 11). Fortunately, it has been acknowledged and will be fixed via an upcoming update. Full story here.

IST 01:04 pm: The latest OxygenOS 11 update (version 11.0.3.4) for the OnePlus 8T has finally fixed the Google Play Store app installation issue that was affecting many users. It also brings a few other optimizations as well. Head here to know more.

IST 10:41 am: Some OnePlus users who’ve installed the Android 11 update on their devices are reporting that the default launcher setting is broken since it prompts users to pick a default launcher every time. Full details and workarounds available here.

IST 11:15 am: OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 11.0.2.2 update for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro which brings a bunch of fixes and improvements to the two devices.

Some of the major bugs and issues that have been fixed are the Parallel Apps not loading, battery draining, and apps not downloading from the Play Store issues.

IST 12:00 pm: According to a user report, OnePlus has re-added the OnePlus Scout feature to the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro via the OxygenOS 11.0.2.2 update. More details here.

IST 13:45 PM: OnePlus users, icluding even those with devices on OxygenOS 11, are reporting an issue wherein they say they see a battery draining alert related to many apps that they use frequently. More on this here.

IST 11:55 am: OnePlus staff earlier mentioned the WiFi connectivity (or no internet) issue is being worked on, but the problem still stands unresolved.

IST 11:52 am OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T has just rolled out and with it, a bunch of fixes to the Android 11-based skin as outlined in the following changelog.

Update 85 (August 13)

IST 9:52 am OnePlus recently updated the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T to Android 11 and with it came a lot of expectations surrounding the update and its susceptibility to bugs, owing to the massive delay we have seen.

However, the script seems to be similar as now, users who have updated their OnePlus 6 devices to this build are reportedly facing issues with text appearing larger than usual or even zoomed in. More on this issue here.

IST 12:10 pm Apart from the large text problem, users of the OnePlus 6 and 6T are also facing issues where ambient display and AOD are not working after the OxygenOS 11 (Android 11) update. More on that here.

Update 84 (October 30)

IST 12:54 pm: OnePlus 7 and 7T phones are getting new OxygenOS 11.0.4.1 update which brings October 2021 security patch. Additionally, it also fixes the incoming call interface delay issue. More on that here.

Update 85 (November 23)

IST 12:54 pm: Many OnePlus phones suffer from unresponsive or laggy touch response around the left and right edges of the screen.

This has been a problem for a long time. However, the company has not made a related official statement in all this time.

Update 86 (January 4)

IST 7:00 pm: OnePlus users who upgraded to OxygenOS 11 say they are experiencing excessive battery drain issues even when their phone is in standby mode. More on that here.
