OnePlus has effectively ditched its old mantra of creating flagship killers as their devices have, over the years, crept up in price.

In a bid to differentiate themselves from the crowded premium segment of the market where new OnePlus devices are meant to compete in, OnePlus went all out with their 2021 devices, the OnePlus 9 series.

OnePlus partnered with Hasselblad, a company best known for its premium cameras and for the cameras used in the Lunar landing back in the day.

This partnership was meant to bring the OnePlus 9 camera up to par with its competition, an aspect that previous OnePlus devices kinda lagged behind.

The OnePlus 9 Pro came with all the bells and whistles from this partnership and was meant to be the crown jewel of this union.

While the jury is still out on the performance of the camera of these OnePlus 9 devices due to this partnership, it is coming to light that there could be an issue with the OnePlus 9 Pro’s camera.

According to users of the OnePlus 9 Pro, the device camera has an annoying shutter lag that oftentimes means that users have to miss shots (1,2,3,4).

Luckily though, OnePlus seems to have listened to its users and has since acknowledged this issue, noting hat the developers are working on it.

To recall, we have already seen an OTA update going out to the OnePlus 9 devices, an update that, among other things, was meant to enhance the devices’ camera performance.

Regards, Ghazala Source

Here’s to hoping that OnePlus pushes out more updates to fix this OnePlus 9 Pro shutter lag issue and further improve this device’s camera as it is one of the reasons the company justifies its rather high price.
