Haki is a power that exists within everyone in the world of One Piece but only a handful of people manage to tap into its vast resources and use it in battle. While not as diverse as Devil Fruits, Haki is quite an incredible power and, if mastered, gives the user an edge over the others.
In fact, by specializing in a certain type of Haki, one can attain strength enough to reach the highest of levels in the world of One Piece, as shown by many fighters over the years.

Although Devil Fruits hold tremendous importance and are, arguably, the main power system in the series, Haki is what conquers all and truly makes one stand out. This list already includes the ten best Haki specialists in the One Piece world, however, with the ongoing Wano Country arc, fans have witnessed some new specialists pop up, and with that in mind, we’ve updated the list.
14 Sentomaru
Sentomaru is a high-ranking member of the Marines and he joined their ranks officially during the timeskip. On Sabaody Archipelago, Sentomaru showed his incredible skill with Haki and made it known that he is, in fact, a specialist at using Ryuo.
According to him, he has the tightest defense in the entire world, meaning his Haki is quite powerful. While the full extent of his powers hasn’t been seen yet, fans will surely see what he is fully capable of doing when he returns.
13 Sanji
Sanji is the cook of the Straw Hat Pirates and also a member of the Monster Trio, making him one of the most dangerous people on the seas in the whole world. During the Wano Country arc, fans saw Sanji gain several new powers, such as his exoskeleton, that allowed him to easily overpower Queen the Plague, one of Kaido’s right-hand men.
However, Sanji’s true skill lies in his Observation Haki, which is extremely impressive. Even though Luffy can see the future, he has openly admitted to his Haki being inferior to Sanji in some aspects, which just goes to show how great a user of this ability he is.
12 Charlotte Katakuri
The strongest of the Three Sweet Commanders of the Big Mom Pirates, Katakuri is a man worth 1.057 billion berries, which is a huge figure. Although he wields the power of the Special Paramecia type Mochi Mochi no Mi, Katakuri’s real skill lies somewhere else.
Over the years, he has trained his Observation Haki to sky-high levels. By breaking all his limits, he gained the ability to look several seconds into the future, making him the best specialist of Observation Haki in the story so far.
11 Roronoa Zoro
One of the strongest characters in the Straw Hat crew, Zoro is an incredibly skilled swordsman who heavily relies on the usage of Haki in combat. In the Wano Country arc, Zoro received Enma, one of Oden’s swords, which allowed him to bring out his strongest Haki forms.
Along with high-level Armament Haki, Zoro was also able to use Conqueror’s Haki to coat his blades in combat. Although Zoro can only use these abilities unregulated for a few minutes, he’s an extremely skilled user of both and is one of the strongest Haki users in the series currently.
10 Yamato
Kaido’s son, Yamato has inherited his father’s incredible conqueror’s spirit and has the ability to use high-level Haki as well. Although his Observation Haki skills haven’t been seen so far, Yamato has used the advanced forms of both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki.
Yamato’s strongest skill is certainly his Conqueror’s Haki, which he can channel into his club while fighting. Using this power of his, Yamato was able to fight Kaido on an even footing for a while and even inflict injuries upon him. Without a doubt, Yamato is a specialist in Haki.
9 Dracule Mihawk
Mihawk is the strongest swordsman in the world of One Piece and it goes without saying that he’s among the top tiers of the verse. He wields the Saijo o Wazamono grade sword called Yoru, which is also a black blade, thanks to the constant imbuement of Haki into it.
Given that Mihawk is far more skilled than the likes of Zoro and that he doesn’t have a Devil Fruit ability, he is an exceptionally skilled user of Haki. Mihawk is, more likely than not, a user of the advanced forms of both Armament and Conqueror’s Haki.
8 Silvers Rayleigh
The former right-hand man of the Pirate King, Silvers Rayleigh still ranks among the most ferocious people in the One Piece world. In fact, his bounty is still active despite having left piracy years ago. Rayleigh’s strength is considered to be legendary in the One Piece world.
Yet, he doesn’t possess any Devil Fruit power. It is quite evident that his biggest strength is his control over Haki. Rayleigh seems to specialize in the usage of Armament Haki, as seen when he destroyed Camie’s explosive collar on Sabaody Archipelago.
7 Monkey D. Garp
The Hero of the Marines, Garp is another legend in the world of One Piece. He is known to be the strongest Marine to ever live and is the only one in their ranks, along with Sengoku, who is capable of rivaling the likes of Gol D. Roger and Whitebeard.
Garp doesn’t possess any Devil Fruit power, but he does have access to Haki. It seems that he specializes in the usage of Armament Haki as that’s what he used to crush 8 mountains and, later, to flatten Don Chinjao’s head.
6 Boa Hancock
Renowned as the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock is one of the most powerful characters in the One Piece world. She possesses the powers of the Paramecia type Devil Fruit called Mero Mero no Mi, however, her true skill lies in the usage of Haki.
The Kuja, in general, are considered to be a tribe of Haki specialists. Hancock, being a user of Conqueror’s Haki, is likely a specialist of this power. Her true skill in combat hasn’t been shown yet, however, she is one of the very few people in the world whose strength is acknowledged by many.
5 Kaido/Big Mom
Both Kaido and Big Mom are members of the Four Emperors of the Sea and are fearsome pirates, having the highest and the second-highest active bounties in the story, respectively. While both of them possess Devil Fruit powers, they are also highly skilled in the usage of Haki.
Kaido, in particular, makes use of Conqueror’s Haki in almost every attack of his, implying he is a specialist of this power. Similarly, Big Mom can also make use of advanced Conqueror’s Haki, however, she tends to use it less often.
4 Kozuki Oden
One of the strongest characters to ever live in One Piece, Kozuki Oden was the rightful Shogun of Wano. He was also a member of the Whitebeard Pirates and, later, joined Roger on his journey to Laugh Tale. Oden was quite an incredible fighter, recognized by Kaido as one of the five strongest he’s ever faced.
He didn’t have any Devil Fruit powers and specialized in the usage of Ryuo, as well as Conqueror’s Haki. In his prime, he was strong enough to defeat the likes of Kaido.
3 Shanks
Shanks is one of the Yonko in the One Piece world and quite a skilled pirate. Although very little has been seen of him in fights, Shanks is known to be a menace in combat. Despite not having any Devil Fruit powers, Shanks is incredibly powerful, thanks to his Haki.
When he met Whitebeard, Diamond Jozu openly praised his Haki as “incredible.” Whitebeard then went on to praise his Haki even further. Shanks is most certainly a specialist of Conqueror’s Haki.
2 Monkey D. Luffy
Luffy is the protagonist of One Piece and currently, he ranks among the strongest people in the series. He has access to all three types of Haki and has advanced his skill in all of them. He is a specialist of Observation Haki, Ryuo, and also Conqueror’s Haki.
Among all the Haki types, however, Luffy is especially skilled at using Conqueror’s Haki, which is his best Haki type. In Wano Country, he reached Yonko level and is currently fighting Kaido in a one-on-one battle.
1 Gol D. Roger/Whitebeard
Roger and Whitebeard are two pirates who are often considered to be in their own league when compared to the rest. While Whitebeard was reliant more on his Gura Gura no Mi powers, he was also a good user of Haki nonetheless.
Roger, on the other hand, was a master of Conqueror’s Haki and Ryuo. Despite not having any Devil Fruit, he was able to match Whitebeard in combat for 3 days and tie the battle. In fact, Whitebeard is the only pirate to ever match him completely in battle.
