Samantha and Naga Chaitanya, who married in 2017, have declared that they will no longer be together. On Saturday, October 2, the news was made public. At the same moment, the stars released a statement on social media.
Taking to Twitter, Naga Chaitanya said, “After much deliberation and thought Sam and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue our own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us.”
“We request our fans, well-wishers, and the media to support us during this difficult time and give us the privacy we need to move on. Thank you for your support,” he added. Samantha also issued a similar statement on her Instagram profile.
In recent months, the media believed that the marriage was on the verge of divorce, especially when Samantha changed her surname from Akkineni to ‘S’ on her Twitter and Instagram profiles, presumably hinting to this. Despite repeated attempts by the media to explain the rumors concerning their marriage, the pair refused to dismiss or refute them, thus fueling speculation that all was not well between them.
Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had been dating for over two years when they married on October 6, 2017, in a ceremony attended by their family and close friends in Goa. Both a Hindu and a Christian wedding were held for the couple. The destination wedding took place at Hotel W, and just a few special people were invited. They later hosted a spectacular celebration in Hyderabad for important members of the film business.
Samantha’s Telugu debut film Ye Maaya Chesave, the Tamil version of Vinaithaandi Varuvayaa, as well as Manam, Autonagar Surya, and Majili featured the duo working together. Samantha, according to some sources, has refused to accept alimony.
